I have loved horses my whole life. I was fortunate enough as a child to be around them a fair amount and at the age of 10, I got my first pony. For the next few years I spent every spare moment with my horses, I competed, took part in Pony Club and Riding Clubs, and rode any horse that I could get my hands on.
After having a good amount of success with my horses, starting a couple myself and training a few younger horses, I considered myself pretty knowledgable on the subject, however my horse Vision came to prove just how much I didn't know! I wasn't having success with anything that I previously learnt but I was determined not to give up so I began looking for something different.
I'd heard about Parelli and went along with my Mum and a friend to the 2007 Parelli Celebration event and as we sat there watching Pat, Linda and the Savvy Team I was completely blown away. Seeing them riding around bareback and bridleless and playing with their horses at liberty with no physical connection at all, was amazing - I'd never seen anything like it. The partnerships that they had with their horses were plain to see - this is what I had been looking for.
I'd seen an instant change in my horses behaviour once I'd got started and after a few years at home working through the DVDs, books and later on getting lessons and attending clinics with Parelli instructors, I made the decision that this was the path that I wanted my career to take, so I began looking into becoming an instructor.
From then on I completed my 4 week Fast Track at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, my 3 month Externship in Florida and 5 month Internship in Colorado. I have had the opportunity to travel around the USA as a part of the Parelli tour team and spent months teaching on campus in both the USA and UK. Each year Sean and I travel back to the USA to study with Pat and Linda.
Over the past 5 years I have spent time teaching lessons and clinics in the field and developing my own facility where Sean and I hold clinics, workshops and playdays all year round.
